Unlocking the Power of Grab Hire in Wiltshire: A Superior Alternative to Skip Hire

If you are working on a construction project in Wiltshire, or if it comes to that, any other sort of project, it is often the case that you need to get rid of waste. This could be because you need to clear the site in the first instance, or it could be that the project itself has produced a lot of waste that needs to be removed at some point.

One way of getting rid of waste is to hire a skip. If you have a small amount of waste to dispose of, then this could be a good option, provided you have somewhere for the skip to park. For example, if you are in a High Street or on a main road out of town there may be no place for you to put one. But with that said, a skip might be useful in some instances.

However, today, many people with a lot of waste to remove are opting for grab hire in Wiltshire.

What’s a grab? It is an open backed lorry/truck with a crane that has a “grab” or bucket attached which can be used for grabbing large amounts of waste at a time and loading them on to the lorry, and then simply driving them away. Very often, a grab hire can be less expensive than using a skip. This is particularly the case if you have a lot of waste to remove because otherwise you have to have the first skip removed, then the next one delivered, and so on. You might need ten or a dozen skips. A large grab lorry can handle the same as about three 8-yard skips.

Load Up – And The Rubbish Has Gone

Another big advantage of grab hire in Wiltshire is that as soon as it is loaded, the rubbish has all gone. You can also use a grab lorry to remove waste on sites that are difficult to get on to. The grab arm can extend over hedges, walls, and so on, load up the lorry, and off it goes. This is also useful if the surface of the land is rough, because when you hire a skip, you need a level surface on which to put it.

Another advantage of the grab hire that we provide at Top Mix is simply that of physical effort. If you are loading a skip, it means that workers have to pile rubbish into a wheelbarrow and take it to the skip, and then wheel it up a plank. Either that, or unload it and load the skip by hand, dumping the rubbish over the edge.

All in all, there are many instances where a grab is a far better option than a skip. If it can save you money and effort as well, what’s not to like?
